Rules for Viewing or Using any Data from this Web Site.

1. CaptainQuirks.com does not condone nor validate or invalidate the content of these reports. They are wholly the result of other users of the web site.

2. CaptainQuirks.com assigns an integrity level to some posts. CaptainQuirks.com uses special algorithms to detect disingenuous posts, but the accuracy of these algorithms has not been proven.

3. The average ratings are non-scientific since they are not from a random sample. Those that post, self-filter. Further, ratings for the same individual with identical behavior could vary or the behaviors themselves could vary due to the culture of others that fly with him or her. You are cautioned not to reach any firm conclusions or take any serious acions based on these ratings.

4. If you find a comment about yourself that you consider disingenuous, you are encouraged to contact us and we will review the post and consider it as a candidate for deletion. (There are Flag This Post buttons (🚩) adjacent to each post.) Further, we believe everyone deserves a fresh start. If you need to temporarily hide something written here, let us know and we'll suspend display of those posts for six months.

5. You are welcome to post a comment yourself as a response to other posts about you. If you do this, your self-ratings will not be considered in average rating calculations.

6. It is not required that you enter a Secret Code when posting. If you choose to enter a Secret Code, then you can later use that secret code to search for those specific posts. Addtionally, if your Secret Code is reasonably strong (at least 8 characters, and not password then you will be able to edit your posts at a later date. Otherwise, you will need to contact us to edit the post for you (via the Flag This Post buttons (🚩) adjacent to each post). Other Secret Codes that are too weak to allow edit privileges are versions of passw0rd, p@ssword, pa55word, etc. or passwordx, consecutive digits, or repeated digits.

Rules for Posting any Data to this Web Site

1. Posts are intended to rate Flight instructors, Captains, Sim Instructors, Check Pilots, Mission Commanders, Flight Check Airmen, or any other person, professional or private, that acts in a position in authority, such as PIC or Check Pilot, in the cockpit of an aircraft, or in training for cockpit operations.

2. All posts are completely anonymous. No need to supply your name, email, nor phone number. The only mandatory field is the name or employee number of the Captain or Instructor being rated.

3. A Captain or Instructor may post comments about himself, such as to defend against inaccurate postings. In that case, the comments will be displayed, but the self-ratings will not be included in reports.

4. CaptainQuirks.com will generally not edit posts. We cannot vouch for the accuracy nor deny the accuracy of any posts. However:

    A. We will delete a post if we determine that the post is a violation of government regulation or law.

    B. We will delete a post if we determine that the post is disingenuous, for example, a hack, or blatant intimidation.

    C. A Captain or Instructor that suspects a post about them is disingenuous is encouraged to contact CaptainQuirks.com to request that we review the post and consider it for temporary suspension or deletion. (Please use the contact link adjacent to post in question.)

    D. If you've made a post and later wish to edit or delete it, please contact PilotQuirks.com. If we can confirm that you are the individual that made the post, then we will edit or delete the post per your instructions. (Please use the contact link adjacent to posting in question.) Alternately, you can edit the post yourself if you choose to use secret codes of reasonable strength (8 or more characters that aren't password.

Exceptions to the Rules

1. CaptainQuirks.com recognizes that crewmembers change companies and stale postings may not be in the best interest of anyone. Representatives of airlines or other companies are welcome to contact us to consider deleting posts where crewmembers are no longer with the company. Similarly, crewmembers interested in a new beginning may request that certain posts be suspended from view for a period of time. Make such requests using the contact link adjacent to each posting.
